BUILT-IN BOOKCASE

This Built-In bookcase system is multi-tiered and accompanied the same kitchen renovation which included the Waterfall Island seen here – also detailed on this site. The entire kitchen exhibits a modern design with attention to practical necessities, like storage concerns. The bookcase runs the entire length of one wall, is floor-to-ceiling, and incorporates multiple electric and USB outlets as well as wiring for audio components.

The entire bookcase is constructed using 3/4" Birch ply and is trimmed out using Poplar hardwood. Both materials are ideal for accepting a painted finish.

The finish began with multiple coats of water-based primer with sanding between coats and final finish is a high-gloss enamel.
